The organizational structure of the Changanassery Municipality operates under the framework established by the Kerala Municipality Act, 1994. It is broadly divided into two main wings: the Elected Political Wing (policy-making body) and the Executive/Administrative Wing (implementation body).

1. Elected Political Wing

This wing represents the citizens across the 37 electoral wards of Changanassery.

  • Chairperson: Head of the Municipality; presides over Municipal Council meetings and oversees policy decisions.
  • Vice Chairperson: Deputizes for the Chairperson.
  • Municipal Council: Composed of elected Councilors from each of the 37 wards.
  • Standing Committees: Special committees headed by Standing Committee Chairpersons that manage functional domains:
